My daughter has a wood side table, which has been painted and sealed cream - not a cheapie, from Ethan Allen. however she has put mugs of drinks on the surface and I now have orange marks which seem to have gone through to the wood, and I can't remove. Any tips ?? I have tried Ajax, Cillit Bang and a rough sponge.
This can be a big problem. The only solution I Have found is to rub down the surface ((carefully) with fine steel wool (DON'T be tempted to use a Brillo pad, go to a decent hardware store) the revarnish the table. Howvere, if the table is a good one, consult a local carpenter, joiner or cabinet maker who will be able to match the colouring for you
It is a good one, I think I'll just leave it in case I ruin it, it is quite new though so I don't want to spend any more money on it at the moment ! Nobody really notices except me, and now we have a little drink mat on there.
