Where Can I Get A Dirt Trap Mat / Rug / Runner That Won't Slip On Carpet ?

Hi,
Am really struggling to find anything I can put down on carpet by the front door & French doors, to stop dirt being trodden thru' the house. Have tried pretty expensive mats that claim they're non slip on any surface but are actually not, they ruck up. I've been told by a guy selling nothing but mats & rugs on a market stall that I need felt backed (he didn't have any), & have tried "usual" outlets with no joy.
Anyone have, or know of, a brand that *will* stay in place on carpet ?
Thanks :)

I'd buy the non-slip underlay separately from the mat to get the best of both.
John Lewis, or just google turtle mats for a local source.

Old_Geezer, "non slip", generally, doesn't seem to apply to carpet - literally ! - so I'd be dubious about a mat "sticking" to the underlay, sadly.
EcclesCake, thanks for the tip. Had a quick look at turtle mats - latex backs ? I know they say they're non slip on carpet but others I've bought have said the same but they're not, & the back looks the same. Do they actually work ?
These are supposed to be good:-

The non-slip underlay I bought from John Lewis cut into mat sized pieces and held the mats to the carpet very well; as well as it did to the floor tiles in the kitchen.
I get mine here. They are as good, if not better than Turtlemats and much cheaper but you don’t get the posh designs. They come in various qualities depending on whether there is any damage to them, the website explains it all. They will travel on carpet but B and Q used to sell tacky underlay stuff which works pretty well.

Mine are actually on wood or tiled floors, however I've just put one on a rug and tried to shuffle along to dislodge it and it didn't move.

Now I'm *really* confused, Flonska !
They say "Our Dirt Trapper mat has a nitrile rubber backing, unlike most doormats of this type that have a latex or PVC backing." EcclesCake had suggested ones that seem to have a latex backing, the back of the (expensive !) ones I've just returned look pretty much the same to your suggestion,

Old_Geezer, d'you know what the material in the underlay in John Lewis is ?

woofgang, I've got the stuff I think you mean, didn't make any difference.
EcclesCake, haha, thanks for trying but my carpet has a very short pile, possibly much lower than a rug (?).
Question Author
Ah, woofgang - FELT !! That'll stick to the carpet (as per market seller's advice) ... will it stick to a pvc / latex / rubber backed dirt trapper ... ;)
It was a short and tightly piled afghan rug.
yes CW it will...its sort of tacky stuff...peels off cleanly when you are done but has got some kind of stickiness on it. One thing.....whatever you want it to stick to MUST be as clean as possible, its worth shampooing the carpet where its going and keeping everybody off it. The reason is that if there is a layer of dust, dog hair and so on, then the sticky will stick to that and not the rug fibres. Similarly make sure the back of the doormat is clean and dust free.
The John Lewis stuff is excellent. Bought some for a rug on carpet used daily and it hasn't moved a millimetre. Not cheap, but saved so much aggro.
I'd have to look it up but it must be on their website. Not cheap but I had small doorwidth type mats and one piece cut into quarters covered three with a quarter spare.
