Artificial Grass

I'm getting my garden weeded and rotavated shortly and hope to get some artificial grass laid down. I just need to know what other preps and material I'll need to do prior to this. The chaps that are doing the rotavating just do garden clearance so they won't lay the grass itself.

Thanks :o)

Just make sure that the people who lay it secure it properly. My son had his laid one day and he whole lot was stolen overnight. Good luck with yours.

Crikey, DSJ. How nasty and selfish some people can be?! Must've cost a fortune to replace.

Thanks for the advice.

Great, thanks Chris :o)
If you are rotavating you will certainly need a layer of Type 1 stone compacted with a vibrating plate ..then a layer of sharp sand compacted before the membrane...not a 'piece of wood with a hammer'as per the link.

Thanks Ryzen, I will bear this in mind.
I wouldn't do it the way Homebase say if there is going to be plenty of traffic on the grass.

I would bother with rotavating the soil either. I agree with Ryzen ... Wackered limestone base and blinded with sand. (it's how I did mine)
*wouldn't bother* ^

My dad has been turning the soil and removing the bramble roots. They were removed a few years back but somehow it still comes back.
