We are building our new home and will have his and hers dressing rooms with bathrooms. The plan for the guest rooms feature shower rooms with one sink, a friend said why not double sinks. I cannot imagine sharing a bathroom with my wife while we used separate sinks. Can anybody tell me why you would have two sinks?

2 sinks ? , one of you gets washed while the other is using the loo then you swap places.

If I had room I would go with two. Makes it more personal ( if that is the right terminology ).
I'm redoing my bathroom fairly soon and I want two sinks. If only to prove to my husband that he's the filthy sod that doesn't clean up after he's brushed his teeth.

Thanks Gavmacp, maybe I wasn't really clear with my question, the thought of two people standing side by side doing their ablutions fills me with horror. My wife agrees.
Rocky,
Clean up! Your beginning to use language that us males don't understand!

So rockyracoon, you use the bathroom separately, but you have evidence of piggy behaviour.
I also agree with you but I think many couples who share a bathroom would be comfortable doing stuff side by side (as long as it's not using 2 loos :-)

Might as well have side by side toilets for communal dumping, marvellous thought.
Yes. I brush my teeth and then clean the sink. He brushes his teeth and says he cleans the sink. He lies.
One good sink with plenty of room around it, please. Can't a man shave and brush his teeth in peace?
Do men ever clean bathrooms? I must have missed that.
I do I even clean the toilet!

Thanks hc, that's why I am having my own bathroom.

I pay the cleaner, does that count?

The man/ woman thing is quite an amusing/confusing thing. My friends husband is always telling her where she isn't doing something right as he wants to ensure the kids know there is a right way of doing something. One day I was helping with the clothes washing and found some of his clothes inside out and told her that she should speak to him about it. She had already spoken to him but he continues to ignore it.
If my wife is on the bog and I am desperate for a pee , I just pee in the sink , is that not normal? Of course it does not work the other way round.

I'm now struggling with your gender gavmacp. Anyway, been on site all day, just signed off the guest bathrooms, one sink, now heading home, 65 miles. Thanks to all for the suggestions.
Gav, you should always launder clothes inside out, it stops piling and fading.
There are some items this works for such as jeans but putting clothes the right way round saves time for the person who does the ironing.
