Replaced my washing machine waste water pipe this afternoon (as the old one had a crack leaking water)

replaced new ok, but now the water wont drain away.

I have gone through a test cycle and each time it stops when the water is supposed to drain.

took off new pipe and replaced it again but to no avail.

Am I missing something obvious ?

any help appreciated.

don't suppose you got a mangle I could borrow ?
The outlet pipe must be above the machine water pump. I think

yeah looked a couple of vids on you tube.

Really can't see where the problem is! the water drained away ok before ( apart from the leak!)

put the new pipe on and its not draining at all, even put the old pipe back on just to see where I was going wrong and that one doesn't work either!
Is the filter blocked Mrinc. Bottom front of the machine. Have a bowl handy if you unscrew the bung to get out the filter.
If the old pipe worked then the fault must lie with the new one. Is it blocked? or kinked?

No block or kink, filter empty n clean, worked perfectly before change of pipe now its not working at all !

well seeing as its a rainy bank holiday, No prizes for guessing what I will be spending my day doing!

I'm thinking now that I might have dislodged a wire on the drain pump as I put on the new pipe! gonna put it on test to see if the I can hear the pump working (thank god for you tube vids)

I'm assuming you mean you replaced the the pipe from the pump to your stand pipe and trap. If so, I would have thought the water would have drained out of the machine as soon as you disconnected the pipe. If it didn't leak there must be a blockage somewhere.

Maybe your make of machine needs the pump to drain the water. With all machines we've owned over the years if you lie the drain hose level with the floor the water runs out by gravity.

All fixed :)

I had accidently disconnected the water pump in my attempt to connect a new water waste pipe.

Now there is no excuse for the pants n socks fairy not to replenish my drawers!
