Wasp Or Fly

havE had several large buzzing flies come wasps indoors lately Any IDeas?

In general wasps are marked with black and yellow/orange/red and have long bodies. Flies don't. They both come indoors in the Summer attracted by smells etc.

my 6 cats make short work of buzzing nuisances.....

Possibly 'Bee flies' They look a bit like a fly dressed up like a wasp.
I've seen a few in my garden lately.

Hornet mimic hoverfly ? Get loads of these at work
