I am having carpet fitted shortly & three doors will need to be trimmed. The carpet fitter can do this for me & quoted £10 per door. Is this a reasonable amount...I have absolutely no idea! thanks.

I'd happily pay £10 per door.

thank you. as I said, I had absolutely no idea
Try and do it yourself ... remove the door and saw and then plane the door to the required finish .. Then re-hang the door hoping that you haven't mucked it up.
Or pay the £10 and have the carpet fitter trim the door with the proper tool and get it right first time.

£10 a door sounds fine, if you try to do it yourself and have not done it before you could end up with swing doors like in the old western movies!!!

I'm unable to do it myself as I have a poorly hand. Thanks for replying

£10 a door is the going rate, certainly in and around London.
Not too hard to do yourself though.
10 pounds (I don't have the "L" sign) is a very fair price, especially if your doors are hollow core rather than solid doors. The shortening of a hollow core is a real chore when done right...
Ha, Clanad speaks from bitter experience, I guess. ;o)

A decent carpet layer will have a special reciprocating type of saw that makes it an easy job. If not, he'll do it the hard way.

Either way ......... £10 is well worth it.
^^^ Sorry, Homer. I missed your link. You've already mentioned the door saw :o(
