I have been given a lovely pair of curtains with an embroidered edge down one side of the length. My question is, do I hang these with the embroidered edge at the outer side or in the middle where the curtains will meet when they are drawn. Any advice welcome! thanks

Hi Murray x
I would say the outside so it is 'framed'
I would say outside as well. Maybe it`s just a matter of taste.
I think it is how it looks best in the setting - if the walls either side are busy with furniture or art have the embroidered edge in the centre.

Snuck in there mamya! x
Which side are the gatherings tied? Embroidered edge or other edge?

yes, I guess it's a question of choice but I've put them both ways & still can't decide the way to hang them. thanks for all your helpful replies
Well that was a waste of ink!
The answer to Tilly's question will at least tell you how the previous owner hung them - do which you like best.

Tilly, the gatherings are tied so the embroidered section is in the centre but I still can't decide. Think I'll decide tomorrow!
