Who do I contact to repoint my house? bricklayer, builder?

i did a search via google in my local area and I have rang a few companies roofing builders and nobody seems to want to do the job as it's a big job. one company quoted £1200 and the other £6800! the first guy who quoted never showed up to do the job but second quote it far too expensive.

I need another quote but I am struggling to find someone. job is gable end and front of house.

any advice of what companies to contact please?

Try entering house repointing in your search engine. I've just done that and got several firms who say that they do that kind of work. One firm described itself as bricklayers/stonemasons.
You could try looking for a good general-handyman. Many of them are ex-builders scaling down from hard labouring work. Small ads. might be the place to start - or look in newsagents ads, supermarkets etc..
I agree with Jourdain. Bricklayers will all be earning lots on the sites. Local small builder/handyman.
This work is extremely tedious and labour consuming. You may well have to pay £45 per square metre plus access costs.
