How come my dishwasher is a lot quieter than my washing machine?
My washing doesn't make a noise if I drop it whereas my dishes make a racket.

The first step in attempting to solve this conundrum is to wash your dishes in the washing machine and your clothes in the dishwasher. If you experience the same sound effects, then you are no closer to a solution. However, do not despair; eventually it will all come out in the wash.
do you put your dishes on the spin cycle?
Your dishwashing doesn't go round and round and to and fro, it just gets a hot shower. I like Stewey's solution best :-)
Lucky you, having a quiet spouse to wash the dishes.

:D Thanks all for the chuckles.

My dishwasher makes a dreadful racket, all the markings have come off so it's guesswork as to where I start it, but it's when it's spinning the plates that the noise is worse.

It's a miracle the crocks don't come out in smithereens
