Gate lock......

We have high solid wooden gates into our garden which we need to keep secure but without a key. Can anyone recommend, probably a keypad type of thing, which is double sided (locked automatically when shut) and need to enter number from both sides. Or anything else that will do the same job. Many thanks.

What you should be searching for is a double sided latchbolt with a keypad push button combination. As you intend fitting it to an external gate, try getting a marine grade lock.
From my experience most garden gates never fit very well, so a presicion lock is not always suitable.
Homer makes a good point. Just what I was thinking. Timber gates, especially double one are always "moving". It'll depend on the weather, temperature etc.
You'll most likely get it set up nicely.......... then after a while, the latch and the keep will decide not to line up any more.

Be aware that you possibly won't be able to see the numbers in the dark as well.

........ including digital and biometric fingerprint ones.

More expensive, but less troublesome, would be electrically operated "arms" that fix to the top, or one side of the gates. They could be operated by a waterproof switch, or by a handheld remote control.
