Patio cleaning

We have just spent the afternoon weeding the patio and blasting it and all the furniture withe the Karcher.

I have said to my husband that we now need to brush some sort of sand into the cracks but we don't know what sort of sand. We have a bag of sharp sand. Will that do, or does it have to be a special kind?

Kiln dried sand Tilly ( thats what they use with block paving ).
Sorry Tilly, if your patio is slabbed, then mix a bit of cement in with your sharp sand and make a dry mix, and then brush it into the cracks, natural moisture will then set it.

We've never bought any cement, Tony. Are there different sorts. Can you get little bags?
Yes I think you can Tilly, builders merchants or DIY shops maybe.
Sorry, ordinary Portland cement will be fine.

Thanks, Tony.
