cost of gardener

What would the cost of a gardener be - an ordinary family garden, just weeding boarders and cutting grass - maybe once a week.

About two hours or maybe one and a half hours. Is it a hourly rate, or a set amount. How much would it be.

Never had a garderer before but I just cant keep up with it - its only the front garden - but its a mess - I just havent the time .

Whereabouts in the country are you as rates differ?
I guess they vary a great deal. I`ve just taken on a retired guy for beer money and to get him out from under his wife`s feet at £10 an hour.
£25 qualified £20 unqualified
Gness is that what the wife pays you?
She gives me £20 Traci. I give him £10 back but don`t let on will you?
Gardeners average about £15 p hr here (Derby)
Ask around your neighbours, local shops, etc, there may be someone retired who does a bit of gardening. I think it's always best to get someone by word of mouth if possible.
My cousin in Lincolnshire pays her gardener £12 an hour.

Friend pays £12 per hour and that seems to be average around these parts.
Twelve quid an hour here in Norfolk plus copious amounts of tea .
And ,my gardener is qualified and holds a certificate from the RHS .
I had a chuckle to myself over your boarders that need weeding. Maybe you mean borders and not people boarding in your house? lol
