The garden has been colonized

Manage to get grass cut today, I discovers quite a few ant hills in the process.

Apart from 2 ton of Nipon& a constant stream on boiling water what other methods of getting shut would you suggest.

Why don't you just leave them be?
What damage to gardens do ants do?

Fascinating creatures to watch...

I used to have a problem with ant hills on my lawn, inasmuch as they found a way into my house and larder. They even invaded the dishwasher.
I had to spray the door and window sills with ant killer and block up tiny holes in the window sills with BluTack.
I kept destroying their nests by spraying them with ant killer and, fortunately this cured the problem.
open up the nests and watch the birds come down and feast on the larvae

thanks for your input guys
If they are red ants then I do sympathise. You can't sit out in our garden because you always get bitten by the little blighters. I hope you find something that will shift them, then you can let me know what it is and I can get rid of mine.
