I am very happy with my Karcher pressure washer. Not sure of the model number. It cost ~£90 four or five years ago. I tried a friend's machine before I bought mine. Friend's had one of those saucepan-like patio cleaner accessories - which I didn't really get on with, so I decided against that option.
They use a surprisingly small amount of water. I cleaned my wheelie bins very thoroughly last week and ended up with no more than 1" of water in the bottom.
There are some precautions to take heed of:-
Always make sure the thing is drained and kept in a frost free place over the winter. I see that one comment in the links is to the effect that the pump cracked due to icing up in the winter.
Also be very careful when using for car washing. Do not blast tyres! On full power it's easy to damge / weaken them!
It's always good advice to read the manual!

thanks guys for your time
Karcher.
Bear in mind steve that some of them now have the ability to run from a bucket or tank.

With the increasing number of hosepipe bans we're getting now you might want to consider this feature

Thanks Jake, but up here on the wirral we haven`t had a ban & after the events of the last month or so I cant see one being imposed.

Thanks again for your input mate
We bought a karcher last year and I used it to wash the car on Monday. Unfortunately, the soap dispenser thing didn't work and so the car was hard to clean with just plain water.. I think I may have done something wrong in putting it together.
Blast!
You could have mine Steve. I bought one, had a mad few days cleaning the paths, the fences and the cars but its never seen the light of day since. Just haven't had the time or inclination and its been in the shed gathering dust now for about 5 years!

To be honest it was very powerful and took the top off the paths; as others have said, be very careful with the car windscreen and tyres.
