How can I stop black smears on upvc window frames

I'm being good and washing my windows inside and out but the ones on the front are doing my head in. The black rubber around the glass is causing black smears on the white frames and it's a nightmare to get off. I imagine it's probably down to the rubber breaking down due to age but it's damn annoying. Any tips on how or if I can prevent it, short of having it all replaced.

Don`t know how to prevent but I bought,Aldi I think, boxes of sponges. White, brick shaped and very dense, almost like polystyrene. They work a treat on UPVC.
Flash do a similar thing. I used one on my laminate floor after a rug label had decided to stick to it! Came up a treat. Also works on wallpaper, surprisingly!
