Tinted window film for conservatory

Hi
I am thinking of having tinted window film put on my glass conservatory as it is red hot in the summer & freezing in the winter. Can anyone tell me if they have had it done & does it work? I did consider an air con unit but they are so expensive to run I was hoping this could be an alternative option.

Many thanks

It will help reduce the 'red hot' in the summer.
The impact in the winter will be barely perceptible - window film is not an insulating layer.
There are companies that offer varying solutions for summer, winter, or both. Try Google for 'conservatory heat loss reduction' for a start.
How about a radiator and an air conditioner ? I'd suspect it'd be more satisfying. Warm in winter if you turn it on and accept the cost, delightfully cool in summer.
And yes, I must be tired, I read half the post before rushing to answer. But even so I'm unsure I'd call it an alternative. Maybe a way to get part relief I'd suspect.
Your comment on the cost of running A/C prompted me to check my own costings for our House. A room with approx 45 cubic metres costs us, on average, Euro cents 19 per hour. This with temperatures up to 40c. The costs of running them as Heaters (they are inverter types) is considerably more, which is why we don't use them for that.
