Has anyone got any experience of these?
Are they as good as they appear?

Yes, amazing machines if you get a good one, the cheap DIY ones are not so great .
I have a karcher one, and it has made it so much easier to keep the wooden (real plank) and tiled floors clean...tried it on windows and not impressed but the new karcher window cleaner thingy is totally brilliant.
I saw an advert for a hand-held one and wondered if they work as well as they appear to on the advert.

I have a steam mop and I love it. Works great on floor tiles. My first one blew up after a couple of years. I rang the supplier, asking for advice on a repair and I was sent a new one, FOC. I was well pleased.
