any one used the carpet cleaner? a puppy who is house training and a cream carpet (not our choice) dont mix does doktor power work??Triead the new vanish powder and its naff, gladly take any advise on keeping the carpet clean!

Not tried that but the rug doctor sprays are excellent. Sprayed it on ribena I spilt on a beige carpet, left a few mins and when I came back couldn't even see where it happened.

We had a large coffee stain which had dried on a pale blue carpet, tried everything to remove it but nothing worked till I got some White Wizard from Lakeland, excellent stuff. Rub the cream into the carpet, leave a while and the stain just goes.

will give anything a g, im desperate as i loose the deposit on dirty carpets!

Make sure you get something that can also break down any urine or bacteria as well to stop the smell - if a certain area like a corner and you are able to lift the carpet you could put some plastic sheeting (or bin bag etc...) underneath to prevent it hitting the floorboards.

I have a friend who is a vet nurse who recommended biological washing powder for getting urine out and you can get special sprays for those kinds of stains too in pet shops.

Agree with firewatch - the vanish is absolutely useless!
