hi, i was just reading the thread about towie's electric carving knife going strong since the 70's and i was thinking what i have, and if it could beat that. Just remembered i have an electric whisk that my mum gave me a few years ago - she got it for an engagement present (1966). I still use it and i still works and in fact still has the original plug on it!

A sixties Kenwood mixer.
I can't beat that, but I have my first ever washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker and microwave (which looked dated, so has been replaced).. they're all about 24 years old.
Long Life Batteries, DT {:o)
Microwave from 1987.
my tumble dryer, its about 9 years old
My microwave must be about the same age as yours, Mark.
Fridge about 12 years old.
An Elizabethan[ that's the manufacturer not the period] 4 track tape recorder bought in 1962 still working.
My Dads got one of those big Kenwood mixers too Euphima. Sadly he's lost the lovely floral cover for it.

I think our Henry is about 20 years old and he's still going strong, despite being dropped down the stairs a few times.
Totally spelt your name wrong, Euphemia. Sorry!
No worry, Evian!
Erm....I think it's my cooker.

Me and electrical items don't go hand in hand :-/
Not an electrical appliance but still using the ironing board I got as a wedding present in 1964. Don't make them like they used to.
I bought my cooker when I left home in 1992 - it was the only appliance I bought new - and it's still going strong.
