smelly dyson

whenever i hoover with my dyson i can always smell the dust and carpet. Is there anything you can put inside to meake it smell fresher? can you still get shake and vac?!

I have Dyson and it says in instructions not to use any powder fresheners in it .I usually use the power you sprinkle on the carpet lightly. Fail to see the difference but that is what it says.

take out the washable filter, and wash it well allow to dry before you put it back put a few drops of essential oil on it I like citronella or lemongrass it helps... but keeping the filter clean is the biggest thing

I've done similar to Rowan - but put the essential oils on a small tissue and hoovered it up...smells lovely.
