Removing coving

I need to overboard my ceiling but to do hat, i have to remove the old plaster coving. Ive started but it's proving a bit of a brute. Any tips on how to get it off quicker....im using an old, but sharp chisel and hammer.

Mine fell off - it was all in one piece. If it's a older house you may find you can lever it off starting at the corner?

Not a chance....this is a swine to get off...and there's quite a bit of it as we've just knocked two rooms into one !!!
In common with much of life, there is no easy way! (N.B. Frequent tea-breaks may help ease the pain!). ;-)
