Renting A Property Following Bankruptcy

We have been a hardworking, respectable couple. Like many other people we became victims of the recession. We left our last rented property before we got into real difficulty and so have always paid our rent fully, and on time. We have lived since then in a relative's static caravan holiday home, obeying the site licence rule of having to move out for two months each year. On these occasions, we have paid, up front, to rent a holiday cottage.
Now that we are both retired, we are in a position to make a fresh start, do not need to claim any benefits and wish to rent a property once again. How difficult this appears to be. Because we have , to all intents and purposes, no residential address to offer prospective letting agencies for their checks we find ourselves wondering how on earth we can move forward. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

ps are you still in the bankruptcy period? do you get pension credit?
Would the owner of the static caravan allow you to use their address for correspondence?
