dremel works wonders with the right attachment
Scrape it out with an old knife, a thin-bladed screwdrive, or something similar. Get right down to the wall. Regrouting will make it look brand new again. Use a waterproof grout.
In a previous house where the grouting was a mess, I used steam via a wallpaper stripper & it softened it enough to dig it out with a small flat-headed screwdriver. hope this helps
Go to B&Q and buy a tile grout remover. They come with two blades that can be used together or singly, depending on the width of the grout, and are about £100 cheaper than a Dremel.
