Can anyone let me know the answer to a question about my Lease. I bought a flat outright approximately 5 years ago and although I thought I had been given it, I don't have the Lease. I am selling the flat and have the asked the Managing Agents whether they have the Lease. They apparently have, but have said I have to pay them £150.00 for a copy! Surely if I bought the flat outright, I should have been sent the Lease after completion when purchasing the flat. Where do I stand? What can I do about this? Is the normal practice under the circumstances?

What worries me, Scraggers, is how your solicitor let you buy without sight of the lease.
If I've got that wrong, then perhaps the solicitor didn't send it to you, or he's keeping it in storage for you.
