Best Maintenance Of Oiled, Solid-Wood Beech Table
I have just purchased a solid-wood beech table. This has been treated with oil. I am inclined to giving this an additional oiling, before using it. I am keen to learn from those who have experience in maintaining solid-wood beech tables, and seek advice for treatment, both prior to initial use and for the long term. Thank you.

Danish oil or Tung oil are particularly good for this. Liberon and Ronseal are just a couple of brands I'd recommend.
Try "Axminster Power Tool Centre. " Their site has some good advice.
It really doesn't have to be re-applied that often. If the surface starts to look a bit tired and thirsty, then another coat will freshen it up.
The knack is to not put it on too thickly. You'll get a build-up that will take ages to dry as the dried outer coat will prevent the oil underneath from ever drying out.
For that reason, don't be tempted to use a brush. Pour a small amount on then rub it in well with a piece of cloth...... or, even better apply with fine 0000 gauge wirewool. That'll give it a good rub-down at the same time.
