Hi, all! I'm thinking about purchasing the Samsung Addwash washing machine, (The 8kg model number WW80K5413UW) but after reading the PDF of the user's manual, I'm a bit confused. In the manual it states that an 8kg wash at 60 degrees takes 283 minutes to complete the wash cycle. WHAT?? Nearly five hours to do a load of washing? Does anyone have this machine, and does it really take that long? The washer does have a quick cycle, but that's only for a few small things like t-shirts, and you can do that in half an hour. But I'm talking about jeans and jumpers, a full sized wash.

Well, an 8 kg load at 60C IS going to take a lot longer than, say, a 5 kg load at 40C. (Having said that, the longest cycle in our Miele (Intensive Plus) takes 2 hr and 47 min for 7 kg....so, yes, 283 min does sound excessive!)
There only seem to be a very small number of reviews for that exact model and those that exist are lacking in detail. However there are loads of reviews (284, from my link) for the WW80K5410UX, which appears to be basically the same model, and quite a few of them do mention very long cycle times:
