Probably best to get it plastered over. Can't say what that would cost.
It's one hell of a job, I understand it's cheaper to get the celling skimmed Cecil.
It's done all the time now Cecil. A couple of good plasterers would skim over an average-sized sitting-room ceiling in a morning. So, around £200.
Although ........... half that in some parts of the country, and more than double it in London ;o)
Remember that each room would have to completely clear of furniture etc.
I've got the same problem in my house and have often wondered about the cost of getting rid of it. The house is only about 13 years old and we have had it from new. How fashion changes so quickly! If I had known it was going to be artexed, I would have requested for the builders not to do it. There are too many ceilings in the house to re-do so I just have to live with it. One of my life's regrets!

oh dear, sounds like an expensive job then, like scrummy I will probably have to live with it, I don't often look at it the ceiling anyway, but since we are not getting any younger I was thinking it won't exactly be a good selling point when the family come to sell it in the future, still maybe it will come in fashion again.
having had to deal with this I must agree with everyone , skim the lot, don't bother trying to remove it.
