Lawn?

My "lawn" is at least 95% weeds. I have looked at those weed & feed products but I'm worried that if I use it I will end up with just a patch of soil! Can't afford to re-turf so any suggestions will be welcome (except concrete as I want some grass!).

I think you will be wasting your time and money at the moment as it has been so dry my lawn is brown not unless you have had a lot of rain.

Airate the ground to give better drainage and prefered conditions for grass. Top dress the lawn with a sprinkle of top soil andsow fresh grass seed. When the grass grows and becomes stronger, begin to weed kill the lawn and you will slowly replace the weeds for grass. You may need to do this seveal times as this can not be done over-night. Wait for cooler, wetter weather before sowing.

Thank you Hawkwalk. Can you suggest a good weedkiller and grass seed.TIA
Resolva lawn weedkiller is ok and you can get that as a ready mixed spray for use as a spot treatment. As for grass seed, depends on the lawn you want or conditions but if you just want a general purpose lawn seed then any brand will do in my experience.
