Sambucus racemosa

My smbucus is approx 5 foot high and has been a lovely shrub-until this week. On Monday it was covered in tiny pollen filled flowers and looking good ,by Tuesday they had all withered and are dying. Any help would be much appreciated

Does it need watering?
Has a neighbour or farmer been spraying?
Do you have a fence recently treated with a creosote type substance?
Otherwise, I can think of nothing. You could ask an arboretum or a good nursery?
