Gladiolis Shooting

I have just found a whole packet of large gladioli which I have forgotten to plant. They look to be sprouting ok and have healthy green shoots about 2-3". I am going to plant them but should I leave the shoots just poking through the soil or plant much deeper and cover the shoots?

Plant them so that the tip of the shoot is just above soil level.
