This year I want to grow carrots in containers.

What is the best store-bought compost to use ?

Cheers.

A loam based compost such as John Innes number 2 or 3 should be fine, maybe with a little extra sand mixed in.
You could also plant some French Marigolds to deter carrot fly.

I grow chantennay carrots in normal potting compost. I raise my pots to 1m off ground level as carrot fly can't fly that high
