I knelt down for a short while yesterday and when I got up my knees felt strangely puffy, and where the skin on my knees had been pushed upwards while I knelt, it remained stuck upwards and folded. They looked puffy and it took a while for them to look back to normal. Also, the other day I tried to climb a tree; I had to push my shin against the tree while I pulled myself up onto a branch. When I looked at the point of pressure on my shin, there was a swelling the size of half a hen's egg there, and it took about half an hour to go down again. Any ideas, anyone? Thank you

Just something for you to read while waiting for advice
Why are you climbing trees?
A pre-patella bursa...bag of fluid behind the knee, to lubricate partially, the knee joint.

No big deal unless it becomes red and painful to touch.

No treatment needed.

Thank you both. It only happens on pressure, so I will not kneel down or climb trees any more. Grasscarp, I tried to climb the tree because someone twenty years younger than me said that I could, but I couldn't go any further after climbing on the first branch - I was very disappointed.
you look like you should be able to climb trees!

That's what I thought. And I'm not going to do head-over-heels again either :-)
