Ants

My garden is being taken over by ants. I have tried boiling water and ant spray killer and stamping on them and screaming go away, but to no avail. As fast as I kill one lot another lot takes their place. They are quite small and their nest seems to be in holes in the path and they add something that looks like sand. I tried sweeping it away but that didn't succeed either. Any suggestions?

It seems the little blighters read AB as there is a goodly collection of them out the back right now, just to annoy me.

They must have a rare intelligence if they can fathom which of us read the Daily Mail Answerprancer?

That is a very simple question. You just issue them all with an Ant-y Social Behavour Order and they will all be forced to leave.

Good idea snags. An ant-eater would do well in this garden. I wouldn't mind so much but they seem to be undermining the house. I could be living on a giant anthill. Not a nice thought.

Years ago we were plagued with ants .Ispoke to somebody at our local town hall and they reccomended to buy ant powder with yhe main ingredient as BENDIOCARB O.5%/w/w. I found it in a hardware shop ,its called COMBAT and its very good .

Get an ant powder or liquid containing "Bendiocarb" mix it with sugar and leave in a containers accessible to the ants and nothing else, beware of pets as it may attract other animals due to the sugar.

Failing that, get a powder in a puffer applicator and puff it deep into the nest, it does work but again use one that contains Bendiocarb.
