slugs and snails.

It has been raining heavily overnight here so I am just about to gather any slugs and snails from my garden which I am sure are having a field day till I get out there.

When you have collected them up, what do you do with them. I have heard if you dispose of them anywhere near your garden, they find there way back.

Sweet and sour snail/slug balls.

<<do snails/ slugs have ...?>>
I put our Hosta in a pot this year it's still been got at.
Crushed egg shells is the best deterrent for that, Moony.
I never see them though, I thought it was caused by something airborne.
That is correct, Moony. The slugs and snails are getting their flying hours in ;)))))))
I am at work so I have to be seen to be doing something for a while...what's this country coming to. lol

Well said, ladybirder.
Blimey tilly, I wasn't expecting agreement. I've been waiting for the fallout.
Well, I'm not going to fall out with you ladybirder.
The answer is slug pellets - we get through tons of the stuff, our garden is littered with empty shells.

I use slug pellets but have to be carefull because of my pooch.

I take them to a field where there are no houses so I doubt they are going to invade anyone elses garden.
Groan - I have just realised we no longer have garden rubbish wheelie bins in our area (only if you pay a huge amount so I've refused) This used to be the final resting place for thousands of snails before they went to the great snail munching place in the sky.......... now what WILL I do with them? I think I will keep them in a bag and release them on a grass verge in the country somewhere!
