roof leaking

my 40year old roof has just started leaking in 2 places; down the side of the chimney and on the oposite side where the house joins it's staggard in height, terraced neighbour. is it possible to fix either or both from the inside of the loft? if so, what should i use? from the ground it is not easy to see, but i am expecting the flashing to be the problem? thank you.

Don't even bother to think about it Seawiew...............it really does have to be done from outside.............shouldn't be a big job :o)
It's sound like the lead flashing, defineatly can't be done from the inside. Very carefully get up and have a look, try using binoculars first.
might get help from this site http://www.roofsure.co.uk
