laminate flooring for stairs

is there any company based in the northeast of england that can supply & fit laminate to my stairs

This sounds like a not-too-good idea.
What material are you proposing to have put on the risers?
The noise of all that foot stomping up and down will be unbearable on a hard surface.
Slippery? - yes, I think so.

You could have an open plan staircase installed, which is all timber but can be slippery. Two years ago I replaced all our carpets with laminate - except for the stairs. Treat yourself to a new stair carpet - much safer.
