hotpoint tumble drier

I've got a Hotpoint tumble drier, model CTD00, and the thing is useless! It never gets warm and takes ages to dry anything.
Does anyone else have this model? If so, have I got a fault with mine or is it the norm? I know they try and make them more efficient but mine is causing huge electric bills!!
the thing has two settings, hot & cold, with a push button to choose, and I have even tried the cool setting to see it the fault was with that.
Any help would be great!!

We have this model have had no problems. It is a condenser dryer. The condenser besides the filter needs cleaning regularly. Hotpoint advise every month and the filter after every load. Are you doing this?

If it never even gets warm, have you checked if the thermostat is ok?
