Good morning all,

I am looking to buy a multi tool (preferably cordless) for general crafts. I need it to saw MDF, bevel, sand etc.

I don't want anything too expensive or complicated.

Many thanks

I've just noticed I posted this in Society & Culture by mistake.

A vague list of needs. I usually find a range of specific tools tend to work better. Maybe a Dremel would suit although it's corded ? What size are you thinking of ? Anything larger and I'd definitely steer you towards individual tools.
Agree with Old_Geezer, multi tools tend to do a lot of things badly. Perhaps you could expand on general crafts for a more relevant answer.
Actually there is a cordless Dremel

Thanks all for your response.

Yes, my question was rather vague.

I do a variety of crafts, mosaics, glass grinding/painting, stone work and wood burning - burning design into wood. This is my chosen past time.

The materials I use are MDF (various thicknesses) and glass tiles (various sizes from small to standard). So need something to cut and smooth plus bevel.

As for grinding, this will be working on glass and stone

So, in light of this information, is the Dremel the only multi tool? That is rather expensive.

you need the power...the cheaper the power tool you buy, largely the less powerful it will be. Buy a really cheap one and the pressure of the tool on the material will actually stop the tool running. I think that wanting "not too expensive” for what you want to do is whistling in the wind. You will just waste your money
