any tips for getting a drop of paint, or Tipp-Ex (not sure which it is), off black leather?

suggest turps but that might be too strong..

Tipp-Ex has a special Tipp-Ex remover solution. If it is Tipp-ex try that, but what ever you use it will probably remove some of the colour from the Leather as well so you may have to re-dye the leather afterwards.
What sort of paint is it (assuming it is paint) emulsion , gloss?
The best way may be to carefully scrape it off with a sharp knife.
