I would use a saw with the finest teeth I could find, a jig saw probably.

Thank you Toni...that is what I did think about doing but wanted to be sure, will I be able to sandpaper the cut part to smooth it?
Yes Kloofnek, the finest grade of paper you can find or you could use some very fine wet and dry paper.

Thanks..."wet and dry paper"??
It's an abrasive paper you can use when wet or when dry
Question Author
Thank you Geezer.
Given it is plastic you may find a sharp blade gets rid of burs easier than filing or sandpapering. Try one method, if not happy, try another.
You'll get a smoother finish if you keep the wet and dry paper wet.
Question Author
Will try both as suggested ,many thanks
Use a guide jig and a hacksaw with a 32 tpi blade.
