How to Polish Perspex

The heading says it all really. I've not been down this road before, and I'm frightened that using the wrong method could do more harm than good.

Brasso works well on scratched watch faces, but try on a very small area first.
Don't use any form of abrasive.

Thanks, all of you. I was fascinated by Howard's video, though it is the flat, not the edge of the sheet that I'm concerned about. I'll try metal polish.
if you search for - polish perspex you will get lots of hits.
I use Cif (Jif) on plastics. They come up fine. Solvol Autosol chrome polish works wonders too.
