once primed, any quality paint that states its suitable for exterior wood or metal, make sure the metal is clean, then a couple of coats of primer followed by a couple of top coats......if the metal is galvanised then the appropriate primer is required but the top coats can be as stated, any
I was going to recommend car aerosol cellulose paint but it would not be compatible with most if not all oil based paints.
The most important part of the treatment is in the preparation, you will need to get rid of any sign of rust or the new paint wont last for 5 minutes.
It's me again, the champion of Aldi. They sell an excellent paint for metal at £4.99/litre and it comes in a variety of colours. douglas.......I love Aldi and swear by their stuff.......I bought some paint for wood/metal from them to do the doors in our house, I think its the same you mention ( it was one of their specials here about 6 weeks ago )......its the best paint I have ever used to be honest......always used Dulux at double the price but would never bother again......I think they also do an aerosol paint as well and if its as good as the other stuff it will be great.....
