Got these hanging slates below the front windows and after 40 odd years they have faded a lot. They are man made, but not asbestos.they are hard and non porous. They also face South West so get a lot of sun..Is there a product on the market suitable for painting on them that will stop on for a good many years??? Thanks in advance....John

Cement fibre, I guess, Johnty. They start to look terrible when the surface wears off with age. I would imagine they should be treated as masonry. Good old Dulux Weathershield masonry paint................. or any other good make. A good bleaching and scrubbing to prepare them maybe.

I've been told that as they are non porous masonry paint would flake off after a couple of years, especially in the sun johnty.
