I was out this morning, and the postman couldn't get the package through the letter box, so left a card to say, I can pick it up from the main p/o on Tuesday, or have it delivered again, on Tuesday.

Why should I have to wait till Tuesday, what's wrong with Monday, and why couldn't he leave it with my next door neighbour, it didn't have to be signed for? They are so behind the times.

I won't buy from companies that use Royal Mail if I can help it. The service is shocking.
You have to have an 'alternative delivery' option registered with the Post Office before they will leave signed for or 'too large' items with a neighbour. The normal way is to leave a card and return the item to the sorting office for collection or redelivery.
Do you have a choice of delivery service when ordering from a catalogue or large retail outlet ? Surely it depends on the retailer who they use for delivery.

Its mainly that I have to wait till Tuesday what's annoying me, as its probably back in the P/O now, and cant see why they cant deliver on Monday.
Eddie has it right....the Postie has erred well on the side of auction and should be applauded !
Auction????
//Why can I not arrange a redelivery for the next working day?

We need two working days’ notice to arrange your Redelivery. This allows time for the item to get back to the delivery office and be assigned for Redelivery. If you need the item earlier you can collect it from the address shown on the card we left. Check to see how long it says you should wait before attempting collection.//

I went to get a parcel they didn't leave with a neighbour nor in the lockable postbox I have outside. I had been IN all morning and so they can not have rung the bell. It wasn't back yet ! I thought I'd agreed for them to deliver it again but as I was leaving I realised they hadn't confirmed this. By then, even though I had a simple confirmation query and was still near the counter where I'd just spoken to the PO clerk I waited until the next person was done before enquiring, because I'm that polite, only to get some *** yell at me for pushing in, in front if him when he knew full well I'd not finished my query and had been there before him. Rowed with the B, but being soft waited until the *** was done, as he hadn't the decency to let me finish my part completed query. Eventually I asked for the simple confirmation only to be told that no, I'd not explicitly requested redelivery so I was expected to come back again another time !!!!! I could have waited in all week for them not to get off their fat *** apparently.
Because Mondays are the days they deliver all the junk mail.
