They called that project "innovative " ? That is exactly the sort of thing the Romans were doing over two thousand years before.
I believe that my water comes from the River Tay. It is good to drink once chilled.

Are you scottish folks adding a bit of Glenfiddich to the water, to make it drinkable ?
Of course not Bazile - the water is just nice and pure.

My brother is down in England and his water is awful.

The result of all that dam building Bazile is that we now have some incredible scenery open for everyone to see. The Elan Valley area is nothing short of wonderful. Its one of our regular trips out from Swansea....its what we call a 2-flask day, as 1 Thermos isn't enough !

According to our local Water Company, the water they supply has been passed by the management so should be fit for purpose which is good to know.
I'm in SW England, and the water is fine straight out of the tap. I do know people who don't drink it and buy massive bottles from the supermarket. Complete waste of money and resources, IMO.
Jo...with you all the way there !.........buying water from supermarkets is just plain daft for the majority of us here in Britain. I can understand people in London perhaps, but not here in Wales...a fool and his money are soon parted as far as I am concerned
it still smarts in this area; the elan valley infrastructure belonged to the good burghers of the city of birmingham (via the erstwhile birmingham corporation) - and yet the government of the day appropriated it, illegally according to some, and sold it to the french.
Mush....If I had said that, I would be accused of being "anti-British" or perhaps a "leftie" !

But you are right of course. The whole premise for the wholesale hiving off our infrastructures in the 80's, was that :::

1....they would be cheaper
2....We would have more choice in provider

Complete rowlocks.

My water comes from the same reservoir, and in the same pipes, as it did in 1898. And it costs more than it did pre-privatisation......a lot more. The Cray reservoir was built with Swansea rate-payers money.

We were conned Mush....good and proper.
