I wonder if a certain J Savile was suspected as well, before the Queen did her bit with the sword ?

Well, everyone at the BBC, bar the bosses, were falling over themselves to say they thought he was creepy when the story first broke.
So, who knows.....the people he abused certainly knew...
Probably. Every time we see that people are going to be prosecuted.. the list includes judges, senior police officers, politicians, celebrities, etc etc. But very few seem to be investigated and even fewer are charged. Is it because Judges, et al, are themselves perpetrators?
There are two things you can do with a sword. Unfortunately HM chose the wrong one.
Oh Mikey, wishing the Queen Had done her bit with the sword!
Margaret Thatcher was made aware of child abuse allegations involving Cyril Smith before he was knighted in 1988, Cabinet Office documents have shown.

I will never tire of repeating ...Thatcher was an evil woman.

I suppose this goes to show that if you are going to be a paedophile, then the more important you are, the better you will be protected.

I see from the Sunday papers today, that Leon Brittan's home has been searched.

mikey, the BBC are reportedly still busy with Savile cover-ups

Mrs Thatcher would also have been aware of Ted Heath's habit of habitual 'cottaging' in the 50s. Sauce for the goose...

I've seen some threads hijacked, but to turn this into an attack on Mrs Thatcher, well...
They have certainly been quick to strip Rolf Harris of his CBE. However,as I have stolen from elsewhere,Cyril Smith and Jimmy Saville remain dead.
Do the security services not have a duty to vet prospective candidates for high office? Senior army officers and leading politicians who had an appetite for paedophilia could be open to blackmail if details of their tastes got into the wrong hands.
Thatcher was largely to blame for Savile being able to get away with his abuse , it was she who created the post of 'Director of Fundraising' specifically for Savile see my posts at 08.13 and 08.24 on Fri 27th in this thread
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/History/Question1403493-2.html
This post gave Savile the same status as the other paid directors and made him virtually 'untouchable' . Until he got this 'director ' status his abuse was relatively minor, this gave him the opportunity to do whatever he cared to do with impunity.
When this sort of thing happens in the so-called "establishment", I can't help wondering if Freemasonry had anything to do with it. Funny handshakes, and all that.
Otherwise it must be part of the "it's-too-messy-and-complicated-and-embarrassing-to-deal-with-properly,-let's-just-turn-a-blind-eye-and-hope- it-and-the-victims-go-away-and-shut-up" syndrome.
There was an awful lot of it about.

You on the level?
Don’t you just love the fact that his lordship’s warning to Mrs Thatcher was not that Smith was a serial sex abuser, but that if it came out, the honours system would be tainted – and so would she by association.

Never let self-preservation and devotion to the snobbery of the honours system get in the way of stopping a child abuser.

My disgust for all of them is boundless.

Labour Councillor interferes with kids. Goes on to be Liberal MP and nominated for Knighthood by Liberal Leader. Awards committee chaired by Labour Peer recommends peerage goes ahead.
Fatcher's Fault.
Yeah right. Despite the fact it's unheard of for a PM to veto an award that's been nominated by another party and passed by the very committee whose job it is to investigate the recipient's suitability.

I thought she was the Iron Lady?
Best not mention her repeated attempts at getting one Jimmy Savile a night hood
