Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Crossword - Errors In Submission

Can anyone confirm the acceptability of errors in completion of answers in pen for crossword submissions to newspapers, magazines etc?
That is: if you over-write or use tippex on the original.

I would check with the publisher of the crossword

Have sent quite a few in with Tipex used, never thought about them not being accepted, good question, but don't know now whether they are accepted or not, sorry

This query arose a few years ago.It was thought that most crossword submissions were acceptable with tippex or over writing providing that the actual answer was still legible to the checker.

I know that tippex is accepted by the Telegraph.

I have won several prizes with various news papers/magazines, and I use quite a lot of Tippex.

Many thanks to all who answered this question. It has always been a debate in our family - I do believe that as long as the answers are clearly legible then it should be considered as acceptable, which appears to be the consensus of replies.
