George Soros, who famous bet against Britain and earned himself £1billion in doing so, was given preferental treatment in the sale of Royal Mail shares. Black Wednesday which resulted from Soros' actions cost the country up to £27billion.

By getting a 'Golden ticket', Soros could buy millions of shares, and sell them instantly for an instant profit. Royal Mail workers are not allowed to sell their shares for another three years.

// George Soros, the investor who famously made £1bn shorting the pound in 1992, was also among the 16 given the chance to buy more shares than any other investors, according to a list released by the Government. Third Point, the aggressive US hedge fund, Lansdowne Partners and Och Ziff were on the list along with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, the Kuwait Investment Office, and GIC, an arm of the Singapore government. //

tut tut money grubbing Lib Dems!
Let's not forget who was Norman Lamont - the Chancellor's - right-hand man on Black Wednesday, shall we? None other than our current Prime Minister...no LibDem he!
I shudder when I hear the name George Soros, how anyone in our government can have any dealings with him is beyond belief.
He's done nothing crooked Brenden, if anything we should be embarrased at the numskulls we elect that make such easy prey. Soros was the hard man poker player, and Lamont and co were the lads who come in off the street for a game, got fleeced by the master, it was so simple that he didn't need to cheat!
The Numskulls we Elect???????

Quizmonster,

I did not know that Cameron was working for Lamont during Black Wednesday. Thanks for the info.
Did Soros do anything illegal, is that why you would stop him? If not why is he not in jail I wonder?

It is unpalatable I agree, but unless someone breaks a law I really dont see how you can pick one person out and say - not you mate. Surely that is very discriminatory and the fastest way to the law courts thanks to your right-on mates.
