Does anyone know of any connection between Stockton-on-Tees and Margate, please?

A quarter of shops — 27.2 per cent — in Margate are boarded up as the recession alters the shape of high streets. Stockton on Tees is also in the top 20 worst affected this way, list. As you have put this is history are you looking for a historical connection?
